To buy or Not to buy?

Property consultancy Rahim & Co said there are mixed signals and messages in the current status of residential market but overall interest in the sector remains despite the different and unprecedented challenges facing Malaysians.

Research from Sulaiman Saheh, the reasons of interest in the market are now low interest rate given and the various incentive given by developer. Besides that, he said that it may be a goodtime to buy, but this is only for those who are prepared to make a long-term commitment. In another way, it is not a good time to buy for those who lack job security.

Residential loan approvals also improved compared with the same period a year ago, he said. Besides that, the loan were allowed to defer during the automatic loan moratorium period instituted by the government.

The mixed signals are not only felt in the residential sector but is also obvious in the overall business consumer dichotomy.
