Property Tax Exemption for Malaysians for Disposal

According to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the government will introduce several incentives to stimulate the property market and provide financial relief to home buyers.

The campaign “Home Ownership Campaigns (HOC) will be re-introduced, stamp duty exemption will be provided on the transfer property and loan agreement for purchase property between price RM 300k to RM 2.5mil.

The exemption is limited to the first RM 1mil of the property for loan agreement effective for sale and purchase agreements signed between date June 1 to May 31, 2021.

In addition, the government also announced real property gains tax (RPGT) exemption for Malaysians for disposal of up to three properties between June 1, 2020 and Dec 31, 2021.
